![]() ![]() If I was doing this professionally I'd splurge and get a color meter that can measure the scanned color and create a custom color profile for the scanner. But can't.Ĭolor for some shades of purple and green are off. The underside of the glass has gotten a little foggy. Whatever model is closest in current production. If I had to buy a new scanner I'd probably get a similar CanoScan. Or perhaps they have all moved to a different scanner technology, but even after reading this thread I am confused as to what to look for in the specs.Ĭlick to expand.I don't know what to recommend. I feel like there must be more all in ones out there that can do a good job since my previous canon all in one did not have this issue. I am wondering if the previous poster found an all in one printer that scanned objects in glass or plastic without losing much quality, or if going to a separate flatbed scanner like I used to have is my only option. It scans objects and cards not in holders very well. The design of this new canon seems much like the older one, except its somewhat more compact, so Im wondering if the design of the scanner was the most affected. I have tried various software, with various settings, as well as different backdrops on the scanner bed and nothing really seems to help much. This unit scans these objects and they come out much more faded, out of focus, and the cards inside look faded. ![]() ![]() However, I had to replace the canon all in one recently and I bought a canon mg6220 all in one photo printer/scanner. Previous to that I used an epson flatbed scanner and again the results were good. ![]() Previously, I had an all in one canon mp970 photo printer/scanner and the scans of these glass encased cards were very clear. While I do not often scan cd cases, but my issue is similar because on a daily basis I scan vintage cards that have been graded and sealed in glass or hard plastic cases, so obviously you can't remove them from the holders on a regular basis. Hello, sorry to bump an old thread but can't find much discussion of this elsewhere. ![]()
